When should I take the SAT or the ACT?

The prudent time to start preparation for the SAT or the ACT is right after 10th grade; in fact, the summer break after 10th grade is the ideal time. Why? Firstly, not having to worry about school while attending SAT classes will not only give you a better experience but a higher score as well. Secondly, the prep usually takes 4-6 months including coaching and mocks practice. By starting in the summer break after 10th grade, one can comfortably get ready for the exam in October or November. Thirdly, the longer you delay the more priorities you'll have to juggle, especially as academics will bite into your other priorities such as SAT or ACT.
