    Uwezo Learning Process

Uwezo’s PSAT classes are available in New Jersey, Chicago, Virginia, California, New York, and nationwide, offering more than 60 hours of instruction along with 10 or more mock tests, reviews, and additional remedial classes. Our online sessions are 100% guaranteed to provide both flexibility and quality.

The initial 50-hour segment focuses intensively on PSAT English and Math. Each concept and topic is thoroughly practiced in class, followed by further exercises on our application for reinforcement.

After completing the initial coaching hours, students transition to full-length mock test practice sessions using our application to simulate the PSAT exam environment.

Additionally, approximately 10–15 extra hours are dedicated to addressing student challenges and reinforcing essential concepts and techniques.

Detailed explanations for each mock test are available, allowing students to engage in self-review and deepen their understanding.

First, 50 hours are dedicated to and focused on SAT English and SAT Math. Each concept and topic is practiced in the classroom, and then more exercises are done in our application.

After the initial 50 hours of coaching are done, practice sessions for full-length mock tests in our application begin.

Apart from this, additional teaching time of approximately 10–15 hours is conducted to alleviate challenges faced by students as well as reinforce key concepts and techniques.

Detailed explanations for each mock are also provided for students to do self-review.

When should one take the PSAT Coaching?

Uwezo recommends taking the PSAT in both 9th and 10th grades. Similar to the SAT, it offers valuable practice and familiarizes students with timed tests. In the 11th grade, U.S. citizens can take the NMSQT for scholarship opportunities. The PSAT format closely mirrors that of the SAT.

    FAQ

The PSAT, or Preliminary SAT, is a standardized test taken by high school students as a practice exam for the SAT. It measures critical reading, math problem-solving, and writing skills, serving as a valuable tool in college preparation. Additionally, exceptional performance on the PSAT can lead to recognition and scholarship opportunities through the National Merit Scholarship Program.

You should ideally start preparing for the PSAT several months before the test date to allow yourself enough time to cover all the necessary material thoroughly. Many students begin preparing in the summer or early fall of their sophomore year, as this gives them ample time to learn the content, practice test-taking strategies, and become familiar with the format of the exam. However, if you’re aiming for a high score or if you have specific areas you need to work on, starting even earlier can be beneficial.

The PSAT is not compulsory for all students in the USA. Unlike standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, which are often required for college admissions, the PSAT is optional. However, many high schools encourage or recommend their students to take the PSAT, especially in their sophomore and junior years, as it provides valuable practice for the SAT and can also qualify students for scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Program.
